- INGREDIENTS:

- 1.1 cup sugar.

- 2.1 cup brown sugar.

- 3.1 cup butter or margarine,softened.

- 4.2 eggs.

- 5.11/2 teaspoons vanilla.

- 6.3 cups all-purpose flour.

- 7.1 teaspoon salt.

- 8.1 teaspoon baking soda.

- 9.12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips.*

- Variation:2 cups raisins,coconut,or chopped walnuts may be
- substituted for chocolate chips.

- INSTRUCTIONS:Place sugar,brown sugar,butter,eggs and vanilla in
- bowl.Attach bowl and beater.Turn to speed 2 and mix for 30
- seconds.Stop and scrape bowl.Turn to speed 4 and beat for 30
- seconds.Sift flour,salt and baking soda together.Gradually add
- flour mixture to sugar mixture on stir speed,about 2
- minutes.Increase to speed 2 and beat for 30 seconds.Add
- chocolate chips on stir speed and mix for 15 seconds.

- Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet,2 inches apart,Bake at 375^F for 10-12 minutes.
